Higher than Everest

O Everest,

are you not
a Mountain risen above all mountains?

Are you not Chomolungma
the mother goddess of Earth
that claimed the lives of many brave trekkers?

O Everest,
you are raised above the Kanchendzonga,
-even Kanchendzonga-
a mountain worshipped by the Sikkimese
in the light of the 5 Treasures.

You are a mighty hill of mystery,
a seduction that lured many to your peak.
But take heart, O Everest
for the Lord has spoken for His temple:
The True Church shall be established
as chief among the mountains.

Take shame, O Everest
for the Temple shall be raised above the Highest Hills,
and all nations shall stream to it.

Humble yourself, O Great Everest,
for we will arise and shine
with the glory of the Lord.
