Higher than Everest

O Everest,
are you not
a Mountain risen above all mountains?

Are you not Chomolungma
the mother goddess of Earth

that claimed the lives of many brave trekkers?

O Everest,
you are raised above the Kanchendzonga,
-even Kanchendzonga-
a mountain worshipped by the Sikkimese
in the light of the 5 Treasures
.

You are a mighty hill of mystery,
a seduction that lured many to your peak.
But take heart, O Everest
for the Lord has spoken for His temple:
The True Church shall be established
as chief among the mountains.

Take shame, O Everest
for the Temple shall be raised above the Highest Hills,
and all nations shall stream to it.

Humble yourself, O Great Everest,
for we will arise and shine
with the glory of the Lord.

Behold, the Children born of Spirit and Water,
are now to arise and shine! (Isa60:)

My India Journal 3, Darjeeling and to the World's highest mountains!

5/1/10 Arrived at the beautiful city, the pride of India. Darjeeling, defined as Dorje, the land of thunderbolt. Rich with an exuberant mixture of cultures, blessed with breathtakingly beautiful landscape and an intricate blend of architecture and nature.
與 眾 不 同
"We Want Gorkhaland, a Separation from the State(West Bengal)" is a slogan made famous by the flags and paintings on the walls of the mountainous town, everywhere. People are fairer-skinned here. Almost looking like chinese or malays, and you will forget you are in India.
逼 迫
Ruthlessness of China Military against Tibetan refugees
An elegant touch of Tibetan culture (from China) has given Darjeeling her color. Tibetans want to be freed from reign of China and have escaped to India and sought solace there. As a result, China military force acted cruelly on Tibetans. China exploited and killed many Tibetans for their attempt to run loose of China's reign.

Weather in Darjeeling was pretty cold for Malaysians like me. Still boleh tahan la. Nice food and cheap things to shop for; Honest and friendly people. Comparably, the weather in the next destinations was MUCH MORE unbearably C-O-L-D! Read on.
入 幽 谷
6/1/10 Bipen was our mountain trekking guide under Barefoot org. Sachin, our strong porter to help carry things.g
Yup, we were up for a MOUNTAIN TREKKING ADVENTURE, to get a peek at the world's highest mountains: Everest and Kanchendzonga.

From Manebhanjiang, the 5-day-trek to the high altitudes ended in Rimbik. And it was exhausting. The winter climate was wearing me off. Higher in the hills, I caught a cold.

苦 病

7/1/10 Terrible, a terrible day for me. Awaken and compelled to see sunrise early in the morning. The weather was cold enough at noon, what more MORNING before the sun sheds its light! The winds howled before they struck on the high mountains real hard. The EXCRUCIATING cold froze my fingers, making it painful to even move. I hid in the small hole on the high place while others forbore the cold and the winds to take pictures of the sunrise.

I called for the Lord, even foolishly tried to rebuke and shun the winds by God's name -c'mon, u think u were Jesus meh?-but it didn't calm the winds.

this was later followed by an aftermath. Signs of mild Hypothermia emerged thro' me, as assumed by Uncle Julian.

The trek had to go on, to delve deeper into the hills, closer to World's 3rd Highest Mount Kanchendzonga. We groped our ways through as a sojourner in a foreign land, exploring the lives of the undeveloped hills-people(the Nepali, Sherpa...known generally as Gorkhas).
Symptoms began to develop in me. While trekking, I had difficulties breathing, suffered from drowziness and strengthlessness. Had absolutely no appetite. Sachin, the porter stopped me at a village house for a nap. Then the trek continued, Uncle Julian held me by my arm and hurried all the way to the next camp in Kalapukari. Due to my weakness, Sachin had to carry another heavy baggage.

最 后 一 站
8/1/10 although I had recovered, but RM100 was still spent to hire a mountain jeep to get me to the next destination(the climax of the trip)-SANDAKPHU, the peak hill of the trek where a majestic panoramic view of the Himalayas was attained.

check out more of the awesome pictures at my facebook, Aaron Ccf.

After Sandakphu, it was a downhill trek, to ending of a miraculous journey.

My India Journal 2, Queen of the Hills, Darjeeling

Darjeeling,
A land so blessed with nature,
where I raised my voice to sing and praise.
Hills that are enriched with culture,
have had I to hum the melody of Holy City.

The Queen of the Hills enchanted my innermost being
with the Beauty of Her Majesty;
and with Her Fragrance
of Tea that famed throughout the world.
Escorted by the glory of the Himalayas,
and the mesmerizing snow that gives her color.

My India Journal 1 (Calcutta)

启 程
3/1/10 What a 'great' way to begin. We were far from Cheras Home, then we discovered that my backpack was not taken! Crap, the blame crashed on me (for being absent-minded). Anyhow, a detour was made for my sake. Back in Cheras, the tragic story continued, we couldn't find the car key to my mom's Perdana, which had trapped my backpack in it. The key, aww, was entrusted to Grandpa, who was out for lunch. (*ouch)
I made my prayer and expected immediate result. But neh, it was unanswered.
My aunts drove off in search of Grandpa, while I was left at home to wait. I made my second prayer, in guilt of wasting everyone's time. Immediately, kakak blasted in call of me, in joy. She found the key in a drawer. I praised God.
3, 4/1/10 Dad, mom, Uncle Julian and I arrived in Calcutta, a city known for her extreme poverty. Found a Budget Hotel Gulshan Palace. Couldn't expect too much out of a budget hotel -but no shower heater in winter?!!-
寒 酷 ;困 苦;污 染
The lives of locals are made miserable by the pollution, the climate and also the failure of government to satisfy the wellfare of the people. At freezing temperature of <15 °C, some families, young and old, still have to live by the street side with only filthy blankets to keep warm. Cursed by the cold climate, the plants by the roadside are often covered by a layer of whiteness. BEWARE, as it was easy to be mistaken as snow----not snow, but dust.
求 乞 有 如 求 圣 灵
In absolute helplessness, a little girl touched me with her dusty hand and mumbled her request for some money. Too many, there were just too many of them. They were everywhere in the day, begging for help the same way I begged for the Holy Spirit. Pained by their misery, I could only walk by as I had no money for them.

There is a conspicuous contrast between the rich and the poor. See it in their eyes the intense weariness and longing for liberty. Reluctant, they still have to submit to their fate.
重 男 轻 女
Gender Discrimination still persists here, though not as prominently. Well, an odd example: women are strictly prohibited from smoking, but some still smoke in secret. Women in jeans are detested by society in the South.
的 士 探 险
Interestingly, it's compulsory for tourists to take the Taxi ride as an adventure.
"Not everyone can drive on these roads wan u noe~" exclaimed my mom.
The drivers always horn about on the crowded roads for no reason, and lawlessly they squirrel their ways thro' the narrow gaps between the bigger vehicles, fast, really fast---we could produce another movie, Rush Hour 4.
"I tell u, they don't measure by km/m here, they measure by inches." commented dad sarcastically.
In the evening, the streets will be 'revived', and somehow transform into a colorful and prosperous town. Nice restaurants at Park Street.
为 他 们 祈 祷
Delve into their lives, and you will be enlightened about the value of life, and realize that you have come from a land flowing with honey and milk.
"Pray for them" urged Mother Teresa.
While we have our meals, think of the streets that laid the poor, who are starving simply because no one is willing to offer them a penny to buy a piece of biscuit.

Holy City

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYUlREkMXNg

Last night I lay a sleeping, There came a dream so fair,
I stood in old Jerusalem Beside the temple there.
I heard the children singing, And ever as they sang,
Me thought the voice of angels From Heav’n in answer rang;

“Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Lift up your gates and sing, Hosanna in the highest Hosanna to your King!”

And then me thought my dream was chang’d, The streets no longer rang,
Hush’d were the glad hosannas The little children sang.
The sun grew dark with mystery, The morn was cold and chill,
As the shadow of a cross arose Upon a lonely hill,
“Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Hark! how the angels sing, Hosanna in the highest, Hosanna to your King.”

And once again the scene was chang’d, New earth there seem’d to be,
I saw the Holy City Beside the tideless sea;
The light of God was on its streets, The gates were open wide,
And all who would might enter, And no one was denied.
No need of moon or stars by night, Or sun to shine by day,
It was the new Jerusalem, That would not pass away,

“Jerusalem! Jerusale
m!
Sing, for the night is o’er!
Hosanna in the highest,
Hosanna for evermore!

pray for my family 请为我家人代祷

I am living in luxury, but they are suffering in vain labor;
I am leading a wealthy life, they are struggling for their 3 meals;
I am dwelling in abundance, they are lacking in many ways.

I hear their cries, yet I have no methods to share with them the Shelter of God.
I see their wounds, yet I am unable to motivate them to rely on God in their poverty.
I feel their pain, yet I am unable to bring them to the Mighty Doctor.

I am made alive in Christ,

but they are striving to see light from the idols.

please remember my family in your prayer,
for the absence of Holy Spirit in me has weakened me,
and made me feel helpless.

我生于豪华中,但他们却生于虚空的劳苦;
我过着富有的生活,他们却在为三餐打拼;
