by 陳桂珍 on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 1:59pm

To us who have strayed away

To us who have strayed away from our bro and sis in Christ, from the Church, from the Word of God, from God; to us who have forsaken God; to us who have voluntarily left the fold, God has spoken to us since centuries ago:

"When YOU (Israel) were a child, I loved YOU, and out of Egypt I called my son.
But the more I called YOU (Israel), the further YOU went from me,
to sacrificed to the Baals (Worldly pleasures and iniquities)
and burn incense to images(idolatory; vain glory).
It was I who taught YOU (Ephraim) to walk, taking YOU by the arms; but YOU did not realize it was I who healed YOU.
How can I give you up, Ephraim?
How can I hand you over, Israel?
I will not carry out my fierce anger, nor will I turn and devastate Ephraim. For I am God, and not man--the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath." (Hosea 11:)

You may have given up on and forsaken Jesus, but He said "how can I give you up and hand you over?"
He can't let us go, because He loves us too much.
Come back to Him in times of joy and distress. Give thanks in joy or share with Him your sorrow. If you love Him, you have to love the Church and your brethren.

Note: He is still praying for us.

Fasting Prayer

1. The Effect of Fasting Prayer.

Case 1 : King Xerxes honored Haman, elevating him with a seat of honor higher than all the other nobles. All the royal officials at the king's gate except Mordecai, knelt down and paid honor to Haman. Mordecai's bold behavior enraged Haman, who then threatened to wipe out Mordecai's people, the Jews. This was when Queen Esther sent a message to Mordecai "Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me..."
This fasting took effect as fate took a sharp U-turn: Haman was killed, the Jews were esteemed and for a sweeter ending to the story, Mordecai was made second in rank to King Xerxes. (Book of Esther Chp3-10)
Case 2 : BC 458, during the 7th year of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra was permitted by the King. to leave Babylon(1st day of 1st month) for Jerusalem on the first day of the fifth month. (Ezra 7:1,6-10) As his team set feet on Ahava Canal, Ezra proclaimed a fast; on the 12th day of the first month, they set out from the Ahava Canal to go to Jerusalem. (Ezra 8:21,31)
Why the fast? Before Ezra was a staggering number of 1,500 men(Ezra 8:1-14). Women and kids would sum up to 5,000 people. Their journey from Babylon to Jerusalem is 1000km which spent a duration of 4 months. (Ezra 7:8-9) Things could go terribly wrong with so immense a congregation and so long a journey.
Besides, in their possession was a large amount of silver and gold and the articles...etc. (Ezra 8:24-30) Ezra didn't trouble the king by requesting soldiers for protection instead he told the king that God would grant them peace throughout the journey.(Ezra 8:21-22)
Safe and sound was the journey, there we have the quiet efficacy of fasting(Ezra 8:23,31-32)

Case 3 - After the baptism of Jesus, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, He was hungry. (Lk 4:1-2; Mt 4:1-2) Despite the gripping hunger, Jesus triumphed thrice against the devil. Jesus was well-versed enough with the scriptures to understand what it takes to win(Lk 4:4,8,12 ; Deut 8:3, 6:13,16)
(Lk 4:14) 40 days and nights' fasting hadn't come to waste.
You may think Jesus is a God who doesn't need food for 40days. But hey, as the Word became flesh(Jn 1:14,1), or "He appeared in a body"(1Tim 3:16)with a divine nature(Ro 9:5); He had became a man, bound with "Human Weakness"(Heb 4:15, 5:7-8) Fasting and prayer didn't come easy, but the reward was great spiritual strength.
According to the book "I see God with my naked eyes"(3rd collection of SoonDao) pages 20-50, the writer witnessed God's wonders n miracles. Until now there are 14 great wonders n miracles 6 of them were a result of fasting. I saw God through these testimonies and believe in the power of fasting.
2.When do we need Fasting and Prayer?

As above-mentioned, fasting came to counter a great trouble by pleading God for a quick solution; or that there was a responsibility just as the following:

1. If Queen Esther attempted what she did, there was a huge risk where the king might be provoked. She needed assurance, and it was through fasting. All the Jews were gathered to fast and pray, and they were saved.

2. With thousands of followers in his leadership, Ezra couldn't go on without a fast. He had a heavy responsibility to bear, and he knew what is the best guarantee.

3. Jesus had descended to fulfill the law by completing the salvation plan. And He had to first face the devil head-on! To overcome the 3 temptations, He fasted.

4. I fast when I have problems to which I have no solutions. I have faith that God would shower me mercy and guidance.

More biblical evidences about Fasting:

1. (Mt 17:14-21) A boy was possessed with a horrifying demon which drove him into the fire or into the water. There was no way the disciples could heal him. With a sharp rebuke, seemingly easy, Jesus drove the demon out. “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” Jesus replied, “this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

2. “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overturned.” proclaimed Prophet Jonah, on behalf of an enraged God over the overwhelming wickedness of the city. Fortunately, the Ninevites repentantly declared a fast, prayed and covered themselves with sackcloth in sorrow for sin. God never shuns away the repentant, and spared the catastrophe. (Jonah 1:1-2, 3:4-10)

3. Prophets and teachers in Antioch church were worshiping the Lord and fasting. When they reached communion with God, they could even hear the voice of the Holy Spirit saying, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." (Acts 13:1-2)

This teaches us to have deeper ties with God by zealously serving God and fasting.

"The word which I have called them" in verse 2 refers to evangelizing to Gentiles. Faced with such pressure of a heavy task, they fasted before being sent off.

This record of the apostolic church explains how we should first fast and ask God open the door of gospel (Col 4:3), before "laying hands on them" and "sending them off".

3. The Correct Way of Fasting

(i) DO NOT EAT OR DRINK

(Est 4:16, Jonah 3:7) Moses trudged up Mount Sinai without food and drink for 40 days and nights. (Deut 9:9) despite the tedious climb, he was powerful enough to lift 2 stone tablets, emerging with a radiant face before the Israelites upon his return. (Exo 34:1,28-30)

Testimony: An old Dns. Anna in Taipei Church just couldn't manage her temper well. It was like a genetic disorder where her temper was bad since young. Determined to reverse her "natural behaviour" she fasted every morning. And this led to a blessed fruition.

From what i know, she would never eat before 12pm everyday, not even 1 minute earlier. She continued this practice for years, with just 2 meals everyday she still enjoyed long life, passing away at the age of 106 without sickness!

Coincidentally with the Scriptures, before the glorious birth of baby Jesus, there was a female prophet named Anna who lived with her husband seven years after her marriage and was made a widow until she was 84. She never left the temple but worshipped night and day, fasting and praying. (Lk 2:36-38) footnote states, "widow for 84 years" which adds up to a total of more than 100 years old.

Fasting even gave them long life. "man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."(Mt 4:4)

(ii) Be Consistent

despite work or studies. Do not change our routine of prayer. and fasting easily. Prayer and fasting must come in full, never lose the balance. Remember that the busiest of times, the most crucial are our prayers.

(iii) Humility in prayer and fasting.

At Ahava Canal, Ezra proclaimed fasting and he taught the right attitude "...humble ourselves before our God". Don't force God to answer our prayers. This is never a trade or exchange.

(iv) Shhh! Stay hidden

"When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting... they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting,.... your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."(Mt 6:16-18)

A hypocritical self-promotion is vanity and these hypocrites "have received their reward in full". Reward they wanted was only praises.

Essence of the Church

what make(s) a church? Is it by the hands and charisma of men? Why do we go to church, and take a step further to find the true church?

(1) Eph 3: 7-10
"to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God"
Where is the mystery of God been made plain?
"Through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known" (vs10)

(2) Mat26: 28
"This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."
Jesus' blood was poured out 2000 years ago, and thus gave significance to water baptism, which is despised by many who claimed that baptism is nothing more than an unnecessary ceremony.
Well, let's reason this out, shall we? How does Jesus' blood bleed till today, after 2000 years, in order to cleanse our sins here in Kuala Lumpur, in True Jesus Church?
.................
1Jn 5:6-8
"Jesus did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth."
"the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement."

the (Holy) Spirit is none other than God Himself. God transcends time, so does the Holy Spirit, as they are the same. With the Spirit as witness, our baptism takes the efficacy of remission of sins.
thus, we come to the Church for a reason, for the true and living remission of our transgressions that have haunted us long enough.

(3) Mat16: 17-18
"on this rock I will build my church" The Church is built upon Jesus.
Acts 2:
"All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues"
"Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

the Holy Spirit descended and established the True Jesus Church, by enabling ALL the believers who received the Spirit to speak in tongues(a spiritual language that no one can comprehend) as stated in vs4.
All TJC around the world share different native languages, yet as we pray, we share the same Holy Spirit and the same spiritual tongues, to prove our oneness.

(4) Eph 1: 4
"For he chose us in him before the creation of the world"
we are the Church, and the Church is chosen before heavens and earth were created.
...................
Heb12: 22 "Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem,"
it is the heavenly Church and kingdom, which belongs not to the world, but to Jesus our God.

Thus, the Church is heavenly. She is delivered directly from Heaven as proclaimed in the Lord's prayer "May Thy Kingdom come(from Heaven)". As such, the Church is filled with the Word of God.

My secret Identity

ref from http://www.tjc.org/devotional/showDev.aspx?aid=9582

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” (Rom 8:15)

I used to have this childish imagination that if the Almighty God is my Father, I am just like a superhero born under extraordinary circumstances, and ultimately I have to hide my true identity and capabilities - a superhero, a Son of God.

I, with this secret identity, dwell among mortals who live in vanities and misery;
Among friends and relatives who try to seek something that I already have,
and hardly finding it;
Among the sick and the dying who know not what lies beyond death;
Among the wise and the powerful who created beliefs and formed tales of the spiritual realm, while I am the son of the One who created all things.

It sounds just too cool to be true.
I am my Father's son, who is soon to be sealed with the Promised Holy Spirit.

It's just like in the movie Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, except that the story is fictitious and the gods in the movie are weak and limited.
For my status as the Son of God is true, even in the modern, 21st century.
And my God Jesus, is the strongest and most powerful.

Thank You, my God, for adopting me as Your child.

Life is liken to walking up the stairs to the 80th floor

A couple discovered that the lift was out of service.
They winced at the fact that they lived in the 80th floor.
They didn't want to wait till the lift was fixed.
They decided to walk upstairs, carrying their heavy backpacks.
They were soon exhausted upon reaching 20th floor.
Husband suggested "why not leave our bags here? Makes the climb much easier. After the lift is fixed, we get down to pick up our bags."
Wife agreed.

Their climb became much easier then.
They got exhausted again when they arrived only in the 40th storey.
They began blaming each other for this lousy idea of using the stairs.

Soon, they were too tired to murmur.

Upon reaching the 80th floor, they were delighted.
But they soon realised that they left their door key in Husband's backpack.

This story is an analogy of life, don't you think?
Before we reach the 20th floor(20 years of age), we have a backpack, a burden of living up to the expectations of people.
In 20th floor, we cheerfully leave our backpack, just as we break free of parental and school expectations.

At the age of 40, we bear a grudge against many things, of work, of family.
At the age of 60, we are tired complaining, and resolve to cherish the rest of our days.
At the age of 80, we realize that the "key" is left in the backpack, just as we have left our childhood dreams back in the 20th floor, only to find our previous aspirations buried in regrets.

Will we live a life like this? Let's cherish our present, so we leave no regrets when we reach the 80th floor.

Get Lost!”

TJC jokes

These are some really common jokes and I am not surprised if you have heard of them before:

a) The True Jeus Church members are taught by 'culture' to often say Hallelujah, often as a greeting to others in the church. "Hallelujah" almost sounds like "hi" as members use it to greet whenever they meet each other.
It's not a bad thing. But it could be dangerous.

Eg: my mom is going to greet a Malay(Muslim) but "Hallelujah" naturally slipped off her lips! And the same thing happens when she greets her acquaintances. Imagine that perplexed look on the "victim's" face, they must be thinking, "What the... did the crazy auntie just sing the Mr Bean Hallelujah theme song?"
b) The Bible tells us to do anything in Jesus' name. Yeah, that is to make sure we remember the Lord our God in everything we do, and give glory to him.
Kids are all taught this way.

Eg: a young brother in his school dozed off during the class. The teacher was furious and she intentionally called his name to read a passage from the text book. "XXX, read the following passage." it was loud enough to awake the boy.
The boy shot up like a rocket, with the book in his hand, and he blurted, "In Jesus' name I read, ...!"

c) Any questions? Ask the Father.
Dialogue(FICTIONAL):
Ren Jie: oi, Esther, Chi Yang got a girlfriend already ar?
Esther: yea lar, with Shuriken girl ma...
Aily: No lar, he told me he doesn't have any lor.
Ren Jie: how would you know he told you the truth?
Aily: I ... I asked him in Jesus' name! haha.
Esther: Hor, you abused the name of God?
Aily: no lar... it is only right to ask Daddy about our siblings' relationship ma.
Ren Jie: LoL! "Daddy"?
Esther: Did you ask like, "Daddy Daddy, who is YangYang dating jiek? Is Yang Yang telling the truth that he is dating Shu Shu? If Yang Yang bad bad and tell lies hor, Daddy you must ground him! No more pocket money for him for a week!"
come on, share with us the TJC jokes you have heard or experienced yourselves
in the comment column or chatbox!

Testimony

In the name of Jesus I bear testimony,
oh, while saying that, I was suddenly backed away abit 'cause, do you guys notice that we are seldom that formal as to start our posts in the name of Jesus?
Well, I've got a little testimony here. Just last Friday night.

My Proton Satria is a manual, a good and powerful car-I must acknowledge. I am so proud of driving it around. But unfortunately, I need to admit that I ain't all too good a driver. Much less while I gotta drive a MANUAL car. Days ago I was still driving my dad's Proton Saga and it is an auto.

On that peaceful night, my Satria suddenly broke down and its engine totally died. Surprise flitted across my eyes and anxiety was growing immense. Lydia was helping me to pray while I kept tryin to restart the engine but my efforts led to no avail. O God, do you have to do this to me? C'mon, Your child is now asking of you in sincere faith, help me to restart my engine and You can let it die once we arrive at Church.

My heart pounded loud when I gazed at my back and noticed the bad jam I caused on the already very-busy road of Genting Klang, and my car was on the right lane, the fast lane. Oh dear...

My phone ran out of battery, and this is one thing I gotta thank God for, that Lydia was with me so she could provide a phone and I didn't have to bear this distress alone.

My prayer took a while to be answered, but not in the way I wanted it to be. My car still failed to restart, but in the most despairing moment, Bro. Fun, a church brother, miraculously emerged out of nowhere, standing right in front of my car and lent a helping hand! Thank God.

Why would he come by at such a perfect timing?! This is simply a plan of our Father in Heaven! Hallelujah! To add to its seriousness, I had been fetching alot of people with that car on that day itself, and God didn't let it break down back then to humiliate my driving skills. Thank you Lord.

Sounds like a boring testimony since it's not some huge miracles, but I do think we should give glory to God in everything we do. So c'mon guys, share with us any graces you all have received, as simple and small as this! Every little thing is a good testimony to glorify God!

The Neglected Society

Bro Chin's sermon tonight pricked me regarding our obligation to help the needy, and to serve the society. Actually, I had always wanted to contribute to the society by volunteering in welfare centres like Old Folks' homes, Orphanages or Hospitals. Jesus had laid a perfect example. Look, he didn't just serve the synagogues back then, right? Instead, he traveled afar to help the poor and needy, some were not even Jews/Israelites. This fountain of grace was poured even upon the Gentiles, on whom Jesus was not initially "sent for"(Mat15:24).
In the spiritual realm,
we are the priests of God, the children of light, (1Pet2:9).
We owned an extraordinary status in the eyes of God. And yea, we are NO ordinary people.
However, in the material world,
I am still a Malaysian subjected to the Malaysian Law and Justice.
I am a part of the multiracial society, a part of the human community.
Deep inside there is an obligation of patriotism. An urge to encourage 1Malaysia~

And a will to stretch out to the neglected part of the society.

Let's not hesitate to offer yourselves to the service to the Nation,
as that is also the will of God,
(Js 1:27 look after orphans and widows in their distress).
They live in loneliness and pain, yet have hardly uttered a murmur about their distress.

Let's stretch out to them with the love of Christ.

God Knows

Source: Voices of Children, TrueJesusChurch
Was there, in the Dimensions of Formlessness
a niche to hide the Guilt of the Archangel?
Was there, by a near-perfect mightiness,
a way to conceal a hint of Lucifer's Arrogance?

Was there a Fortress strong enough,
to shield a shameful king from the Eyes of the Almighty?
Was there an Army strong and loyal,
to shield David from God's Anger?

Was there a Darkness so thick and encompassing,
or a Mammon-craving traitor so deft,
Was there a Plot so intricate,
for Jesus to be oblivious of Judas' intentions?

Before Time began, and Beginning built its tent,
God knows.

Before Genesis unveiled her story,
and Heavens and Earth were empty,
yet still, God knows.
Before Abraham laid a foot outside Ur,
on God alone his faith was anchored.
Before Paul made entrance into Jerusalem,
the Spirit alone was his compass.

Before Tomorrow crawls into Today,
and The Day after Tomorrow warns Tomorrow,
God knows.
For He shares our every joy,
and banishes our every sorrow.

we forgive our debtors, You forgive our debts. That's OUR deal. ^^

Strange,
I was aimlessly keying in "Rom 2:3" just
for any biblical websites,
and its content happened to be about judgment. I gaped, jaw-dropped. Did God just let that happen to mold my thoughts?

"So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment?" Rom2:3
I judged my friend(s), and sometimes I might just make the same mistakes they did. And won't I also be judged for the sake of God's justice?
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged." (Mat 7:1)
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."(Mk 11:25)
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father
will also forgive you.(Mat6:14)

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?”

Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.(Mat6:15)

Didn't I ever sin and commit wrongs against both man and God?
Didn't I fail to keep my promises to both man and God?
If I pour contempt on an honest apology, won't my apology be despised too?
If I judge others for what they did wrong, won't I be judged too?
I am not sinless; actually I am a huge sinner, yet Jesus bore it all for me.

Won't I bear with that tiny offense just to do myself a favour, as Jesus bore with much greater offenses, much greater crimes, much greater sins, much greater pain and sufferings, much greater heartaches?

As Emotions battle with the Bible,
my bet is in the Bible.

Procrastinate

"I am not feeling guilty at all. I am feeling so fine. I am so selfish. I should be guilty for not trying harder to save him."

It is a strange and ineffable emotion; a struggle to define one's guilt.

"He was a good man." But a curse seemed to befall him with cruel calamities,
"But he ended up weeping to himself every night because he had a family he could not love, food but he could not feed himself, legs that could not walk, mouth that could not talk," He was suffering from stroke.

"I promised him in our first prayer that I would read him testimonies but..."
I procrastinated.
He was a Buddhist, like the rest of the family.
But he might just gain hope if I offered him the salvation gospel months ago as I promised in my first bold prayer with him.

"I brought my guitar but didn't share hymns with him." as I had initially planned.
I wanted him to hear and sing (in his heart or anything) so he might enjoy the sweet melody of praise. But I met with some small obstacles and dismissed my attempt. And said 'maybe next time.'

"He died crying helplessly to himself even if he had wanted to know Christ" to gain hope, peace, love and salvation.

He passed away the past Monday, abruptly.
This was an unbearable loss for most of his family members because he was a good man.

Jesus could help him, certainly; The Holy Spirit could have comforted him;
"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"(Rom10:14)

He might have wanted to say to me "'Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?' And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.(Acts 8:31)

I didn't cease the time and opportunity, and they both slipped away secretly.

"Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky?..."
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."(Acts 1:)

Let's not procrastinate and allow yourself to fall into this dilemma and regret.
May God lead us and add us courage to do His will.

D u r i a n ' s C h o i c e

After our adventure and victory over Mount Kinabalu, KK church had organized visitations to the many True Jesus Church in the state.

At a not-very-flashy-looking Ranau church,
whose membership was dominated by mostly orang asli/natives, had left me with a very extraordinary story. The Gombak TJC tour had all witnessed this miracle that lasted for many years.

A miracle that I childishly named as 'Durian's Choice', as the durian tree seemed to have chosen Jesus as its master.

In the past when the Ranau True Jesus Church was building, there was a small piece of land
on which a durian tree was planted. That piece of land was supposedly the church's possession,
but the Gentile neighbor insisted that it belonged to them. The Church gave in.
Through the years, the tree grew and branches dispersed.
Some branches reached the church compound across the fence.
And the tree bore fruits, but ONLY in the branches that reached the church compound!
NO FRUIT was yielded in the neighbor's territory.

this lasted many years till now, we witnessed the flowers blooming ONLY on the branches
in the church compound. None was found in other branches in the neighbor's land!

Praise the Lord. This simple miracle generated a huge deal of thanksgiving in us.
Pray so that human beings will give up their heart of stone and find peace in Christ our God. ^.^

Conquest on Mount Kinabalu and Success in Spiritual Life

I am most delighted to announce that the Gombak TrueJesusChurch climbing team had all, both young and old, reached the Low's Peak, the highest point of Mount KK, Sabah!

Throughout the tedious and perilous climb, I noticed the common characteristics shared between our proud Conquest and our personal Spiritual Life.
Like a mirror, I'd say.
The climb itself mirrors our journey of faith as a Christian.

Not hard to relate, really. Let me show you:

1. Prayer in all things = we prayed before, during and after our climb.
= we also prayed for each other as some were unwell
(Js 5:16)...and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
(2Thess 1:11) With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.

2. Chocolate bars, energy food = Spiritual food in spiritual life
(1Cor 10: 3-4)They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.

3. Water = springs of living water, Holy spirit
(Lk1:35) The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.
4. Teamwork = spiritual companion
~ I assure you that any climber with meager climbing experience would have given up easily without a team to constantly encourage him.

(Eph2:21)Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work (Ecc 4:9)In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
(Amos 3:3)Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?

Thus, provided that we all shared the same goal, we pushed each other towards it and conquered it hand in hand!

God said the gate to heaven is a narrow one, a perilous one.
Some gave up the climb and retreated = their faith has failed
But the one who endures to the end will be saved. (Mat 24:13)
Perseverance in trials (fatigue, fear, long distance, weather...)

See? the two stories are linked! It's a practical lesson to learn, then we can truly understand how hard a life Paul had lived before he finally sang the song of victory!
(Jude 1:20)But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.

T-Junction

SPM results are officially out. Ain't we all troubled by the one same thing: Hey, what's next? Dreaded by a dilemma, a T-junction, ehem, we have lost our direction. So now, Which way, man?
Each of us grabs a GPS of different models and 'versions', which ultimately indicates us to different directions. And all that indications claim that they will lead to a beautiful land. Oh dear, which one should I trust?!

Well, God is a lamp to our feet, a light to our path.
why not just ask God? But hey, this ain't my main point yet.

Once we make a decision, and take the necessary actions/steps, our life has hence made a sharp cornering on the road before it continues its journey. This is, in fact, a huge change in our life, where we might most probably have to leave our sweet home and begin an independent pilgrimage.
I am not sure if you guys still remember the main purpose of this blog when it was first established: to encourage daily bible reading, and obviously that purpose seems to have faded away gradually as we trod towards SPM. And now it totally disappeared.

After the T-junction, whichever direction we take, we ought to cultivate a life of worship and service in the fear of God. And re-start our plan of Daily Bible Reading, observe Sabbaths eagerly and attend all church services and youth activities.

Just so we know, life is a vanity, everything is a chasing after the wind.
But hey, so long as we have God in our life, the abidance of Jesus Christ certainly makes our everyday meaningful. Henceforth, be it a left turn or a right turn, turn with God, walk with God. His presence and abidance will make your every path and decision a right one.

Just remember
the Daily Bible Reading Plan,
and to pray, to keep every Sabbath
let's do this together, and add oil lor!

Will You Not Help?

1 Peter 3:8
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

1) Bro. Arthur at Perth now lies in hospital, after an accident which led him to fall into 3rd stage brain operation. In the meantime, his 3 schooling children are still hopeful in wait for their daddy's return.

2) More quakes, even higher in magnitude to come prowling into lands of our fellow humans. Lives brutally consumed, tears shed.
While we live in comfort zone,
Who are there to hear their cries in the howling winds?
Who are there to plead to God to ease their misery?
will we not show compassion by simply offering a prayer on their behalf?

3) Many, even our brothers and sisters are suffering in poverty and warfare at many parts of the world. Their faith wavers, but there may not be anyone who can strengthen their hope.

Do we still have too little to tell God?
Is a 3-minute prayer still enough?

James 5:16
...and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.

Book of Eli

I watched this movie last Sunday. Hadn't a clue about the synopsis. Guess that just made the movie a whole lot more interesting.

I was surprised that the movie actually, skillfully and artistically promotes the importance of Bible in human life.
The movie illustrated the depravity and degeneration of morale in the future world.
Thus, the world is devastated by wars. People are killing each other to survive. Some even have to eat human meat to avoid starvation.

This man, Eli, has a book that, a city leader believes, will revive great power. This book, undoubtedly is the Bible. All bibles were burned and destroyed in the previous wars, and none is aware, that there is one last book, which lies in Eli's hand! (to prove Mat23:35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away; Mat 5:18; Isa40:8)

That's why, Eli seemed to be the only one with moral values.
(Ephesians 4:22...you lay aside...that which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,)

My impression
One thing i loved about this movie, is that the story was realistic.
It mirrored the mysterious ways of God, which surpass human's comprehension.
God didn't perform amazing miracles like opening the Red Sea, but in ways that none can fathom.

I highly recommend this movie. But, ehem, beware, 'cause it's 18PL.
And one last shocking thing about the movie,
The last Bible was in braille, which means Eli was blind all along. (2 Corinthians 5:7 We live by faith, not by sight)
