"Marry me, and I'll give you EVERYTHING" proposed Pharaoh

"Look down from here, lovely."
the Pharaoh suggested.
The little girl's delicate hands were in his dominion.
Deftly they both moved towards the grand balcony, made of gold.

"From the bottom of this palace, till as far as your eyes can see,"
He whispered to her ears,
"All the glamor, wealth, glory and everything in this land,
..."

Pharaoh's countenance was shimmering in golden delight.
Her eyes were fixed on the Pharaoh's.
Seconds passed like an eternity.

Pharaoh broke the calm serenity; he knelt down unexpectedly,
"Marry Me, and I'll give you everything you are seeing!"

Stunned, she remained speechless. Not because of his abrupt proposal,
but because she was just so dazzled by the alluring eyes of the handsome young Pharaoh.

The guardian angel of the girl was next to her,
faced paled by anxiety.

"No, don't! Say NO!" the angel nervously reminded her.

The girl made no response to the angel's calling.
Her heart was melted in the charm of the young Pharaoh,
her soul was devoured by all the gorgeous and beautiful things the Pharaoh could offer her.

A life of glamor, glory and wealth in Pharaoh's arms,
VS
An eternity of Kingship with God in Heaven,
if you were her,
Which will you choose?

  1. another simple article from HolySpiritMonthly, slightly modified, though.

It's hard to choose, if it happens in real life; Although theoretically, we know the answer. Isn't it so?

  4. Actually the girl in the story does not only refer to girls. In fact, i think it is an analogy to describe the Bride of Jesus.

Who's the Bride? The Church is the bride. Jesus is the Bridegroom. But it's like the bride has chosen someone else who looks more charming and pleasing to her, rather than the engaged bridegroom, Jesus.

Still, the Church needs our prayer. Although we maybe physically helpless in helping the church to love God more, but an effort to pray is gonna hold much greater an effect, if you have faith.

    Agree?

Let's strive together to establish a prayerful life. Not only to pray about our own needs, but for others as well.
    God bless

  6. wear a beautiful wedding gown you mean?

Wow, that's real thoughtful. But hope you don't do that at the end of YOUR days. Meaning when you die of old age, if you purposely wear a gown like you said, ... er... weird, too weird, LOL...

Imagine an old lady demands a weddin gown to die with... Wahseii, never heard before. Haha.

Being the Bride of Jesus, it's in a spiritual sense, an expression to describe our complete trust and reliance in something or someone, in whom some foolish people think is non-existent.

We belong to Him. But, err, i dun wanna be a "bride", LOL, sounds gay. HAHAHA joking
